We recognize that making a decision to ask for help or to get an outside opinion may not be easy. But by asking, you will be taking an important step in the change process. Your counselor is someone who will listen to your story and along with you, make a plan that meets your needs and your wishes.

Therapy is not a lengthy process and most issues can be improved within a relatively short period of time. The average number of sessions varies from 3 to 9, but your therapist will give you an opinion as to an estimate.

You are in charge of this process and the sessions are meant to give you ideas and insight into what you want to change and how to accomplish your goals. The real work is outside the counseling office as you begin to implement the plan you’ve worked out with your therapist.

Having 13 therapists with a variety of backgrounds and expertise allows us to match you with a person who understands your particular issues. It also gives us the flexibility to refer you to someone within the clinic if you would like to make a change or have a particular need that your current therapist feels another perspective would be helpful.
