We recognize that making a decision to ask for help or to get an outside opinion may not be easy. But by asking you will be taking an important step in the change process. Your counselor is someone who will listen to your story and along with you make a plan that meets your needs and your wishes. Therapy is not a lengthy process and most issues can be improved within a relatively short period of time. The average number of sessions varies from 3 to 9, but your therapist will give you an opinion as to an estimate. You are in charge of this process and the sessions are meant to give you ideas and insight into what you want changed and how to accomplish your goals. The real work is outside of the counseling office as you begin to implement the plan you’ve worked out with your therapist. Having 13 therapists with a variety of backgrounds and expertise allows us to match you with a person who understands your particular issues and gives us the flexibility to refer you to someone within the clinic if you would like to make a change or have a particular need that your current therapist feels another perspective would be helpful.
We guarantee you that we will listen and not judge. No one is perfect and no one has all the answers. We are honored and humbled that you are willing to make the effort to change and place your trust in us. What you tell us in confidence is kept in confidence and will not be shared with anyone unless you give us written permission to do so. So take that first step and give us a call. The receptionist will set up a first appointment with a therapist who is covered by your insurance and the change process will begin.
